49ers can’t contain DeSean Jackson

Coach Mike Singletary said the 49ers had a “miscommunication” in trying to cover DeSean Jackson on a crucial play Sunday. Cornerback Dre’ Bly was more specific. “It was on me,” he said. Bly said he and strong safety Michael Lewis were supposed to shadow the former Cal star on a third-and-2 play early in the fourth quarter. Instead, the Eagles dynamo got by both of them, hauling in a 59-yard pass that set up Philadelphia’s final touchdown in a 27-13 victory at Lincoln Financial Field. Bly said that when Jackson released inside, it was up to him to keep pace. “I needed to do a better job of hauling tail,” he said.
