Birds deal for defensive end Tapp

The Eagles and Seahawks were talking trade after all. But the two teams weren’t haggling over quarterbacks – or at least not yet. They struck a deal when the Eagles traded defensive end Chris Clemons and a fourth-round pick to Seattle in exchange for defensive end Darryl Tapp. The Eagles also signed the four-year pro to a three-year contract extension, pending a physical, according to a league source. The Eagles not only upgraded at defensive end yesterday, they potentially added a complement to running back LeSean McCoy by signing restricted free agent Mike Bell to an offer sheet.
