Birds reportedly set to hire Jauron

NFL.com reported last night that former Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears head coach Dick Jauron will join the Eagles as the defensive backs coach. Jauron, 59, will replace Brian Stewart, who left the Eagles to become the defensive coordinator at the University of Houston. In nine seasons as a head coach – 1999 to 2003 in Chicago and 2006 through nine games this season in Buffalo – Jauron had a record of 60-82. Jauron worked with Eagles coach Andy Reid from 1992 to ’94 as assistants in Green Bay. The longtime NFL coach also served stints as a defensive coordinator in Jacksonville and Detroit.
