Curtis’ absence opens WR door

Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis spent Thursday seeking a second opinion in an attempt to learn why his injured knee is not healing so that he can return to the lineup. According to coach Andy Reid, Curtis has undergone a series of MRIs that show no damage, but . . . “The pain is not going away, that’s the problem,” Reid said. “We’ve done all the MRIs we can do. MRIs don’t tell the whole story, so he’s going to get a second opinion on it.” Barring some major and unexpected change in Curtis’ condition, and excluding some kind of personnel move, the Eagles will go into Monday’s game vs. the Washington Redskins with only four wide receivers.
