Curtis concedes to knee surgery; should return to field this season

The Eagles’ worst-kept secret is out: Kevin Curtis’ cranky knee needed surgery. Curtis, who finally sought a second opinion on the soreness in his knee that has persisted since training camp and forced him out of the past three games, underwent arthroscopic surgery. The veteran receiver is expected to return to action sometime this season. “Yes, I think so,” Reid said Saturday when asked if Curtis would play another game this year. “I think time will tell here, but I think so.” But Reid couldn’t pin down an exact timetable on Curtis’ return. In the interim, rookie Jeremy Maclin will continue in Curtis’ starting job opposite DeSean Jackson with Jason Avant serving as the slot receiver. …
