DeSean Jackson named NFC special-teams player of week

The stack of honors this season threatens to grow taller than DeSean Jackson. Jackson is the NFC special-teams player of the week for his much-replayed, 72-yard scoring punt return against the New York Giants Sunday night. (Not sure whether the shoulder-bump thing with Andy Reid helped Jackson’s cause, but that maneuver certainly has gotten major play, as well.) It was the fourth such designation for Jackson this season – he was NFC special-teams player of the week after the season opener, in which Jackson broke an 85-yard punt return for a TD, then he was NFC special-teams player of the month for September, and then NFC offensive player of the week after the Oct. 26 win at Washington. …
