Did the Philadelphia Eagles show their hand on next season with the Sheldon Brown deal?

They may very well have. General manager Howie Roseman vigorously denied that the Philadelphia Eagles view 2010 as a “rebuilding year” after today’s trade of Sheldon Brown. That may be, but the Eagles’ chances of winning the Super Bowl in 2010 were a whole lot better with Brown than without him. The draft picks acquired may change that calculation in, say, 2012. Which may be precisely the point. This could also be a clue in the Donovan McNabb mystery. If Andy Reid is willing to make 2010 a transition season of sorts, then the likelihood McNabb goes is much higher.
