Eagles cut Baker, who helped them reach playoffs last year

Rashad Baker’s dream to play for his local NFL team ended yesterday when the Eagles cut the free-agent safety.Baker, 27, is a 2000 graduate of Camden’s Woodrow Wilson High. Interestingly, he was instrumental in helping the Eagles make the playoffs last year when he had a big interception for the Raiders against the Buccaneers in the last game of the season.Baker was signed to a 1-year deal in March to shore up a position that was severely depleted by the departure of Brian Dawkins and Sean Considine, who signed with other teams.”I think I’ve had a fair camp,” Baker had said before being waived. “I know there are a lot of good players at the safety position on this team.
