Eagles don pads for first time

This is the part of Eagles training camp when the criticism and compliments come from the fans as well as the coaching staff.With the bleachers filled on either side of the main practice field at Lehigh University and the skies darkened by a threatening rain that didn’t arrive until later in the day, the Eagles held their first workout in pads early yesterday morning.About 15 minutes in, the practice horn sounded and a voice barked out “group install.” The offense gathered and quarterback Donovan McNabb opened the session with a low pass in the right flat to wide receiver DeSean Jackson that fell incomplete.Rumbling discontent could be heard from both bleachers.
