Eagles, Maclin hope wideout is quick study after finally signing

Jeremy Maclin has confidence. The coming days and weeks will show how much of that confidence is based on ability, and how much is just a 21-year-old guy not knowing any better. When Maclin spoke to reporters after finally signing a contract yesterday, he was asked how much he thought he had missed, in the 8 days from when rookies were supposed to arrive at Lehigh until team management and agent Jim Steiner agreed on a 5-year deal with $9.5 million in guarantees, that could earn Maclin as much as $15.5 million if he reaches all the incentives. “I have no idea.
