Eagles re-sign fullback Weaver

Julius Peppers got away, but the Eagles were able to sign another free agent yesterday. They just happened to sign one of their own restricted free agents. The Eagles inked Leonard Weaver to a three-year contract, making him the highest-paid fullback in league history. The deal is worth $11 million with $6.5 million guaranteed, according to Weaver’s agent, Harold Lewis. “That speaks volumes,” said Weaver, a Pro Bowl starter last season. “To have the title of being ‘the highest-paid fullback in the NFL history’ says a lot.
