Eagles rework McNabb’s deal

Signs were there most of the week, and late Thursday night the inevitable happened. The Eagles and Donovan McNabb agreed to a restructured contract for the final two years of the quarterback’s deal. Terms of the deal weren’t announced but the Eagles likely guaranteed McNabb the roughly $19 million he was due over the next two seasons, keeping the five-time Pro Bowl player among the league’s highest-paid quarterbacks. McNabb’s contract expires after the 2010 season. What this likely means is that McNabb will be the team’s starting quarterback for at least two years but probably no longer unless he delivers the franchise’s first Super Bowl title and remains among the league’s top …
