Eagles sign Nick Cole to one-year deal
The Eagles retained a valuable piece of their offense when lineman Nick Cole signed a one-year contract Wednesday. Cole’s agent, Fred Lyles, said that his client held off signing his tender because various teams were inquiring about the restricted free agent. Ultimately, the Eagles’ second-round tender was too much compensation, Lyles said, for teams to make an offer. “I think the Eagles know what kind of player they have. They wouldn’t have tendered him so high otherwise,” Lyles said. “This is a guy that can play both right and left guard and center.
