Philadelphia Eagles Week 5 Fantasy Forecast
With the 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers coming to town this is a must start for all relevant Philadelphia Eagles starters in all league formats. Donovan McNabb has had 3 weeks to rest and heal his broken ribs to come back for the perfect matchup against the 19th ranked pass defense in the NFL.
Brian Westbrook has also had time to nurse his ankle sprain which kept him sidelined in the Eagles last game against the Kansas City Chiefs. B West is a must start as he faces a defense who surrendered 226 rushing yards to the New York ‘Football’ Giants in Week 4. Look for him to break a few long ones.
With a healthy Donovan you know Andy Reid will be looking to air it out, a
LOT. ‘From the obvious name department’ as Matthew Berry says, DeSean Jackson is an absolute start as well as the 3rd overall tight end in Fantasy Football, Brent Celek. Celek was the beneficiary of ‘his boy’ Kevin Kolb the past two weeks, so keep an eye on how many times Donovan looks his way. Stud rookie phenom Jeremy Maclin looks to be in line for his second consecutive start with Kevin Curtis still having issues with his knee. Maclin is a possible WR3/Flex play in 12 team or deeper leagues.
And the #1 overall defense in the NFL, the #2 defense against the pass in the NFL, and the #7 defense against the rush in the NFL; otherwise known as the Philadelphia Eagles D, yeah you start them too. Oh and Jeremiah ‘The Axeman’ Trotter is back and getting the nod at the MIKE. ‘Bout to tear the doors off the Cadillac.
Look I’m a huge Eagle fan and always support my guys, but I am also a very competitive fantasy football player, who spends way too much time following this stuff daily (when I should be working). These guys are must starts, look for all to score at least one TD besides Maclin.
Happy Fantasy Football Friday.
