For Westbrook, precaution all in vain

Eagles coach Andy Reid said the team followed all the medical experts’ advice. He even sat Brian Westbrook out for an extra week as a precaution after the running back suffered his first concussion three weeks ago. Now, Westbrook’s season, and possibly his career, could be in jeopardy after he suffered another concussion in the Eagles’ 31-23 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday — his first game back. Reid said Monday that “it’s too early to tell right now” if Westbrook will be able to return this season. The chances, however, appear slim.
