Jackson in, Maclin out

Upon his check-in, receiver DeSean Jackson told reporters he planned to “start off on the same track” as last year and have an even better sophomore campaign. Jackson admitted that being in Lehigh for all of last year’s training camp paved the way for his rookie success. But he didn’t fault fellow receiver Jeremy Maclin, this year’s first-round pick who hasn’t signed his contract yet, for not being here. Maclin missed the entire rookie/selected veterans camp, which accounted for five practices. The two receivers practiced together at Donovan McNabb’s camp in Arizona earlier this month but Jackson said they “never got into talks” about Maclin’s contract.
