Jim Johnson dies at 68

Jim Johnson, the revered architect of the Eagles’ blitz-happy defense in the Andy Reid era, died Tuesday after a battle with metastasized melanoma. Johnson was 68. He left behind a wife, Vicky, two children, Scott and Michelle, and four grandchildren. Johnson had been on an indefinite leave since May as he grappled with skin cancer for the second time since 2001. The disease had spread to his spine and other areas of his body.
