Contrary to popular opinion, it wasn’t Andy Reid’s idea to reach out to Michael Vick. It wasn’t Joe Banner’s or Tom Heckert’s, either. And it’s fairly clear that owner Jeffrey Lurie wanted nothing to do with the formerly imprisoned quarterback until being coaxed into it. The person most responsible for Vick’s arrival in Philadelphia is, ironically, the same one many fans believe has the most to lose from Vick’s presence here.
