McNabb picks up Dawkins program honoring high school football players

Donovan McNabb can’t take over Brian Dawkins’ leadership role on the Eagles’ defense, but the quarterback is assuming the mantle for Dawkins in one area that McNabb thinks is important.Last season, Dawkins donated his two tickets to each Eagles home game to a deserving high school player he chose based on nominations by the players’ coaches to the Daily News. The players were selected for their skills on the field as well as their achievements in the classroom and beyond.With Dawkins having left for Denver in free agency, McNabb has pledged to donate his tickets this season.
