Say what you want about Matt Millen’s checkered tenure as the Detroit Lions’ team president, but there’s no better authority on Ernie Sims than Millen, who drafted the Florida State linebacker with the No. 9 overall pick in 2006. Millen told The News Journal/Wing Tips on Tuesday that the Eagles scored a big victory in the three-way trade that sent Sims from the Lions to the Eagles, where he’s expected to start at weak-side linebacker. Why did the Eagles only have to surrender a fifth-round pick (which went to the Broncos, who sent tight end Tony Scheffler and a seventh-rounder to Detroit)?
