The numbers indicate the NFC East remains a powerhouse in the National Football League. But the eyeballs say otherwise this season. With the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants — two of the division’s three contenders — playing in the slate of Thanksgiving games Thursday, it’s a good time as any to step back and ask: Is this still a division of heavyweights? The NFC East is the only division with three teams with at least six victories. The Cowboys, with a record of 7-3, are a game ahead of the Giants and Philadelphia Eagles, each at 6-4.
