‘Personal reasons’ keep DeSean Jackson from camp

DeSean Jackson has told Andy Reid he will report to training camp with the rest of his teammates at Lehigh later this summer. “Yeah, he’ll be here,” Reid said Thursday after the team wrapped up its final voluntary minicamp, a four-day gathering the Pro Bowl receiver skipped. Reid said he spoke to Jackson before the minicamp and the coach cited personal reasons for Jackson’s absence, along with that of Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel. The receiver and cornerback had attended the team’s earlier camps. “If you’re here, you’re going to get better but, again, if you have personal reasons — and it is a voluntary minicamp on top of that — then you have to do what you have to do,” Reid said. …
