Philadelphia Eagles defeat San Francisco 49ers to clinch playoff spot

The Eagles are back in the playoffs thanks to their fifth consecutive win. Their Eagles’ 27-13 triumph over San Francisco at snow-packed Lincoln Financial Field today clinched at least a wild-card berth and booted the 49ers from postseason contention. The Birds forced four turnovers, while DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy reached major milestones. Jackson, who caught six passes for 140 yards, went over 1,000 yards receiving for the season and became the third receiver under head coach Andy Reid to reach the mark. McCoy rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown to became the top rookie rusher in club history.
