In many ways, Texas is one big – one really big – contradiction. The tacky and the tasteful are frequently juxtaposed here. Think of LBJ’s crudity and Lady Bird’s class. Or Houston, a city of amazing wealth but no zoning laws. It’s the state that gave us perhaps our most liberal (LBJ) and conservative (George W. Bush, who was in attendance) recent presidents. And then there’s Cowboys Stadium. Jerry Jones’ $1.2 billion football palace, where go-go girls and elegant cocktail waitresses work, er, cheek to jowl, shares a parking lot with a Wal-Mart. The contradictions were everywhere in the hours before last night’s Eagles-Cowboys NFC wild-card game: A $10 sandwich pairs two words that had …
