Plenty of blame for red-zone troubles

There are statistics you want to lead the NFL in and ones you don’t. And there are some a bit more complex. For instance, there is leading the league in scoring offense inside the 20-yard line - also known as the red zone. The Eagles are tops in the NFL in converting red-zone possessions into points, scoring on 21 of 23 tries.While that may sound nice, it is not, because 10 of the scores were field goals. The Eagles are 23d in the league in scoring touchdowns from inside the 20.In their 31-23 loss to San Diego on Sunday, the Eagles settled for three field goals on their first three trips inside the Chargers’ 20.
