Redskins can count on one thing: Blitzing Eagles

The one constant in the Eagles’ topsy-turvy start is defensive coordinator Sean McDermott’s weekly blueprint to blitz the pants off the quarterback. His relentless pressure schemes have upheld a tradition built for 11 seasons by former defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, who died of cancer this summer. Johnson didn’t care if his defense got beat once or twice, as long as the quarterback had stains on his jersey — grass, cleats, blood, whatever. But McDermott has taken Johnson’s strategy one step further.
