Reid: Westbrook could be out for season

Eagles coach Andy Reid said today that “it’s too early to tell right now” if running back Brian Westbrook will be able to return this season after Westbrook suffered his second concussion in three weeks during the Eagles’ 31-23 loss to the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. Westbrook was injured in the third quarter when he got sandwiched between wide receiver Jason Avant, who was blocking for him, and a Chargers defender who hit him. Reid called it a “big hit.” Westbrook never lost consciousness. In fact, he stood up and walked off the field under his own power.
