Rookie Myers hopes to plug hole for Eagles at tight end

Rob Myers must be making progress, the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie tight end said with an impish grin Sunday afternoon. “I’ve been here for two weeks and two games,” he said. “I was with the Jets for about a week and a half.” A pre-training camp cut by the Jets, Myers has hung on with the tight-end-needy Eagles and seems to be earning his keep. Starter Brent Celek and veteran backup Matt Schobel have battled injuries, though both practiced Sunday. Rookie draft pick Cornelius Ingram is out for the season with a knee injury.
