Samuel dismisses his tackling woes

Asante Samuel responded to the mounting critics of the cornerback’s less-than-reliable tackling. “I didn’t get signed here because I was a great tackler,” Samuel said Friday. “Everybody (on the coaching staff) saw my film.” The Eagles shelled out 54 million over six years for the former Patriots cornerback in the 2008 offseason, Samuel said, to pick off passes. So far, his four interceptions have already matched his 2008 total and place him second in the NFL. Last year, Samuel picked off two passes in the playoffs, returning one of them 44 yards for a touchdown against the Vikings in the wild-card round and another 25 yards against the Giants in the divisional round.
