Over the last three years, however, injuries have sealed the fate of Jackson, with Tuesday’s ruptured Achilles inside the Eagles’ indoor practice facility being the third major injury in three years, following ACL tears in both 2008 and 2009. New Eagles defensive back Marlin Jackson went down during today’s OTAs at the NovaCare Complex with a right ankle injury. Jackson fell on a deep pass over the middle from Kevin Kolb to Jeremy Maclin and limped off the field, assisted by head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder. Jackson, coming off back-to-back ACL surgeries, is visibly upset and is leaving the practice bubble in a cart and with his head in his hands. The Eagles knew there was a risk involved and so did Jackson. His contract is heavily structured with incentives.
